SmartXide Overview
SmartXide carbon dioxide (CO2) fractional laser is a skin repair and rejuvenation treatment that tackles sun damage, age spots, fine wrinkles, deep wrinkles, large or fine pores, acne scars, scars & other blemishes, and poor general skin condition.
There is a specific SmartXide CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing treatment for the fine skin of the upper eyelid and the fine skin of the lower eyelid and beneath the eye. The laser fires multiple small beams onto the skin which burn out tiny areas.
By varying the distance between the beams and the depth that the laser penetrates, you can control the amount of skin rejuvenation. As the microbeams only target a proportion of the skin at any one time, this enables faster healing and less downtime.
You may experience a slight redness and swelling for a few days after you procedure and we recommend using a high factor sun screen afterwards to protect your skin.
SmartXide helps your skin regain its tone and texture using a CO2 laser system on an electronically pre-set network of points without removing the entire skin surface. SmartXide can be combined with other minimally invasive procedures to produce the optimal results.

2. At The Clinic
The consultation is an essential part of the patient journey as it gives us the opportunity to discuss your objectives and the outcome you’re hoping to achieve. We will talk you through the procedure or treatment plan, clearly explain any possible risks and the results you can expect, as well as answer all of your questions.
3. Your Treatment
Procedures at Wimpole Aesthetics are carried out under the direction of our medical director Dr Joshua Berkowitz and his team. We aim to deliver practical, safe and effective medical aesthetic alternatives to cosmetic surgery whilst always respecting a patient’s privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
4. Post Treatment
Our care and support continues after you leave the clinic. You are provided with comprehensive aftercare advice appropriate to the treatment you have received and we welcome patients getting in touch if they have any questions regarding their experience and results.

How long does the SmartXide laser treatment take?
The SmartXide laser treatment takes about 20- to 30 minutes. You need to have topical anaesthetic cream applied about 40 minutes before and you will need a little rest after. So all-in-all you will be in clinic for about two hours.
How many sessions are necessary?
You may need anything from two to six SmartXide laser skin resurfacing sessions, depending upon the overall original condition of the skin, the damage or condition to be corrected and the way your skin responds. Moderate or light treatment settings will generate less downtime but require more sessions than more aggressive treatments.
How soon will I notice results from my SmartXide laser therapy?
Most patients notice an improvement in skin tone after the very first treatment. Skin marks may fade after just one treatment, but you may require more sessions to achieve the best results. SmartXide also stimulates collagen production so your results will continue to develop over the next few months.

How much does SmartXide laser treatment cost?
SmartXide costs £600 and £1,000 for each session. If you require many sessions, then we can quote a special fee for six sessions.
