Dr Josh is a caring and knowledgeable doctor, his consultation is very detailed, he answered all the questions that I am concerned. I have been living with scarring above my upper lip, as a result of electrolysis treatment 25 years ago, in the form of a deep vertical line and small indentations in the skin. Are there any precautions to take before and after injectable cosmetic treatments?

Before undergoing cosmetic injectable treatment, it is important to disclose any medical conditions or medications that you are taking to your practitioner. After the treatment, it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for the first 24 hours and avoid touching or rubbing the treated area.

How soon will I see the results of the treatment?

In general, the results of cosmetic injectable treatments are visible immediately after the treatment, but it may take a few days for the full effect to be apparent. For some treatments, such as Sculptra, it may take several weeks to see the full results.

Do cosmetic injectable treatments hurt?

Cosmetic injectable treatments are generally well-tolerated, but some people may experience mild pain or discomfort during the injection process. We use a topical numbing cream or ice to minimise any discomfort.

Can I have cosmetic injectable treatments if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

It is generally not recommended to have cosmetic injectable treatments if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as the effects of the treatment on a developing fetus or breastfed infant are not well understood.
