Blepharoplasty or eyelid lift is a very popular cosmetic surgery procedure that transforms the eye area, often the first place to reveal the visible signs of facial ageing. However, many patients do not wish to undergo a surgical procedure, with the risk of potential complications such as scarring.
A non-surgical eyelid lift is now possible with the Nano Plasma device which can remove excess skin, tightening and lifting the tissues, without the need for surgical incisions or a general anaesthetic.

How Does Nano Plasma Work?
The Nano Plasma device uses a voltaic current to ionise the natural gases in the air, creating a plasma. When this current is directed at the skin, the plasma creates a superficial burn dot on the overlying skin, causing the skin cells to be turned into a gas, thereby vaporising excess skin without causing any trauma and tightening the remaining skin.
A carbon crust is created on the remaining skin, which will naturally fall off after treatment, revealing much firmer, more elastic skin.

3. Your Treatment
Procedures at Wimpole Aesthetics are carried out under the direction of our medical director Dr Joshua Berkowitz and his team. We aim to deliver practical, safe and effective medical aesthetic alternatives to cosmetic surgery whilst always respecting a patient’s privacy, dignity and confidentiality.
4. Post Treatment

Our Doctors
As the Founder and Medical Director of our UK clinic, Dr. Joshua Berkowitz takes a hands-on approach, personally supervising the training of our nursing support staff and aestheticians.
Dr. Natalie Hammer, an Aesthetic Medicine Practitioner from the United States, boasts 14 years of medical experience, with a notable 8 years dedicated to aesthetics. She is a registered physician with a wealth of expertise in the field.
What can the Nano Plasma device be used for?
As well as targeting many of the ageing changes around the eye, including drooping of excess skin on the upper lid and under-eye bags, it can also be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles so is effective on crow’s feet.
It can also be safely used on other areas of the face, improving the fine lines around the mouth, often known as smoker’s lines. It can also correct scarring and stretch marks, as well as remove small skin lesions.
What happens during a Nano Plasma Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?
First, we will assess the degree of skin laxity in the eye area, as you may need a couple of sessions to remove all the excess skin. Topical local anaesthetic cream is applied to numb the treatment area for increased patient comfort. The sublimation of the excess skin causes immediate tightening.
The skin is not burnt or damaged in any way although a temporary carbon crust forms – this will not leave a scar.
Are there any risks or potential side effects associated with a Nano Plasma Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?
Compared to a surgical blepharoplasty, a non-surgical eyelid lift using the Nano Plasma device is very safe with minimal downtime. There are no incisions made and the procedure does not require a general anaesthetic.
There will be some swelling and crusting in the treated area immediately after surgery, but this will subside within just a few days. The crust is a carbon crust that is totally normal and part of the healing process – you are advised to leave the crust intact until it falls off after a few days. The skin underneath will look a little pink while healing is completed.
A high factor sunscreen is very important to avoid any pigmentation changes.
When will I see the results of my Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty?
You’ll see an immediate result after treatment as excess skin has been removed, but these results will continue to improve as the skin heals and regenerates. You may require more than one session, depending on the degree of skin laxity.
