In recent years, VASER Liposelection has become increasingly popular as news spreads about the outstanding results this innovative device can achieve. However, despite VASER’s growing popularity, there are many myths and misconceptions, so here Dr Josh Berkowitz addresses some of the more frequently asked VASER questions.
Can VASER help me lose weight?
VASER is not a weight-loss method, although fat cells are being removed. VASER is an outstanding body contouring method that can sculpt most areas of the face and body, but it is best that you are at or near your ideal weight, wanting some stubborn pockets of fat eradicated.
VASER Lipo vs SmartLipo: which is better?
There are a number of competing fat reduction procedures on the market and it can be confusing for the patient to know the difference. SmartLipo utilises laser energy to heat the fat cells, whereas VASER uses ultrasonic waves to disrupt and liquefy the cells – this ultrasonic energy is more effective at penetrating deep into the fat tissue and it does it much more safely than the heat from a laser meaning less trauma to surrounding tissue and, consequently, less downtime. This is why we chose VASER to offer to our London fat reduction patients.
Will my VASER results be permanent?
Yes, your results will be permanent, if you follow a healthy diet and exercise programme. VASER does not stop you from putting weight on in the future but we generally find our London VASER patients have no intention of jeopardising their fantastic results.
Can VASER get rid of my cellulite?
Unfortunately, VASER cannot get rid of cellulite but at Wimpole Aesthetics we also offer Pelleve, a radiofrequency device that can tackle the dreaded orange-peel effect. Click here to learn more about Pelleve.
