CoxMedix Benefit Clean

There is power in being gentle and this is exemplified by CosMedix’s Benefit Clean. I first tried this cleanser after undergoing one of the CosMedix skin peels; my practitioner explained that it was gentle enough to protect the barrier function of my skin.

However, I’m so in love with the way it makes my skin feel, as it provides a deep clean, while brightening my complexion. My skin is very sensitive so initially I used it just once a day, but now it’s a key part of my morning and evening skincare routine.

Benefit Clean is a foaming cleanser, which can sometimes be really drying on the skin, yet this cleanser contains Shea so it is still really hydrating. Its power is derived from D- gluconolactone, a potent antioxidant that can repair damage in the dermis, at the same time as detoxifying the skin. Benefit Clean’s natural purifying benefits are further supported by essential oils of grapefruit and Australian sandalwood that can relax and calm the skin. Amino acids prevent moisture loss.

All CosMedix products are free from synthetic foaming agents and sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) so these products are great for those suffering from skin inflammation and can even help improve rosacea. I’ve also noticed that areas of photo-damage have greatly improved since I started using it.

First, I moisten my hands before adding just a pea-sized drop of the cleanser and smoothing onto my face. Benefit Clean is a prescription-strength product so a little goes a long way. Using circular motions, you work the cleanser into the skin before rinsing. It is suitable for use on the delicate skin on the neck and around the eyes.

Another little tip my practitioner gave me was to leave the cleanser on for ten minutes before rinsing off. Done once or twice a week, it works as a hydrating and repair mask for dull and congested-looking skin.

Then I follow up with Benefit Balance from CosMedix which works brilliantly in combination with Benefit Clean.
