Meyers Cocktail of Goodness

Myers Cocktail IV Vitamin Drip

At this time of year, the word ‘cocktail’ brings up visions of elegant parties and interesting drinks, but maybe one cocktail you should be considering is the Myers’ Cocktail.

In the 1960s, Dr John Myers concluded that, because of the way our digestive and absorption systems work, only a small percentage of the vitamins and minerals we digest are being absorbed into our bloodstream and, from there, delivered to the cells that need them.

Although vitamins and minerals had been available intravenously for many years before, Dr Myers developed a cocktail of specially selected vitamins and minerals that could be delivered intravenously, flooding the cells of the body with valuable nutrients.

What’s in a Myers’ Cocktail?

Although at Wimpole Aesthetics, our aesthetic clinic in the heart of London, we may adapt the Myers’ Cocktail to the individual patient’s needs, it basically consists of magnesium, thiamine, calcium, B vitamins and vitamin C.

What can a Myers’ Cocktail do?

By developing this super mix, Dr Myers produced a cocktail of goodness that has been found to be effective in managing or relieving a number of health conditions, ranging from the mild to the severe.

When nutrients are delivered intravenously they bypass the digestive system and a much higher level of nutrients are delivered to your cells via the bloodstream. For cells that are performing below par, this can kickstart enhanced performance of the cells. The basic message is: if your cells are performing at optimum capability then you are much more likely to recover from a health problem.

The broad range of conditions and problems that Myers’ Cocktail has been reported to have a beneficial effect on, include the following:

  • seasonal infections such as cold and flu
  • hypertension
  • asthma
  • migraines and cluster headaches
  • fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome)
  • fibromyalgia and neuropathic pain
  • respiratory infections
  • seasonal allergies
  • cardiovascular disease
  • depression

It is also thought that Myers’ Cocktail can enhance athletic performance and improve recovery.

At Wimpole Aesthetics we are also seeing many of our London patients taking advantage of the preventative benefits of the Myers’ Cocktail, particularly at this time of year, when our bodies might need a little respite from the stresses of both work and play.
