Procedures at Wimpole Aesthetics are carried out under the direction of our medical director Dr Joshua Berkowitz and his team. Dr. Natalie Hammer, a GMC-registered doctor and Aesthetic specialist from the USA, boasts 14 years of medical experience, with eight years dedicated to aesthetic medicine. Armed with a medical degree and a bachelor’s in Biology, she moved to Europe in 2011. Completing her medical residency at Mater Dei Hospital in Malta.
Does getting a face peel hurt?
During a face peel, you may experience a tingling or mild burning sensation as the chemical solution is applied to the skin. However, discomfort is generally minimal and well-tolerated.
Can anyone get a face peel?
While face peels are generally safe for most individuals, not everyone is a suitable candidate. People with certain skin conditions, such as active infections, open wounds, or sunburned skin, may need to postpone the treatment. It is important to consult our skincare professionals to determine if you are a suitable candidate for a face peel now.
Can I undergo a face peel if I have a history of cold sores or fever blisters?
If you have a history of cold sores or fever blisters, it is important to inform us before undergoing a face peel. We may recommend antiviral medication prior to the treatment to minimise the risk of a herpes simplex virus outbreak.
Can I go out in the sun after a face peel?
After a face peel, it is crucial to protect your skin from sun exposure. The newly revealed skin may be more susceptible to sun damage. Use sunscreen with a high SPF, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure during the healing period.
